Ferromagnetic impurities in loose materials
and liquids are a serious problem in many branches of industry.
Magnetic impurities (both dispersed and magnetic objects
of considerable size) can reduce the quality of the final
products or even damage valuable equipment.
In particular, the following materials should be free from
such impurities:
- food substances: flour, sugar, coffee,
tea, etc.;
- fodder and provender, haylage, chopped
grass, granules;
- industrial and construction materials:
ceramic powders, alumina, sands;
- chemical materials: granular polyethylene,
polypropylene, PVC, etc.;
- any other loose materials that should
be free from ferromagnetic impurities (e.g., wood chips
for production of resin-bonded chipboards).
- liquid solutions used in ceramics and
chemical production, emulsions, slurry, dross, and also
drill liquids used in oil industry.
Magnetic separators are commonly used to
remove the magnetic impurities from a flow of loose materials
and liquids. We hope that a wide range of magnetic separators
produced by the MMT Company can help you to solve the problem.
Research and production Company MMT Ltd. produces permanent
magnets and magnetic systems for various applications, including
magnetic separators for extraction of ferromagnetic impurities
from loose materials and liquids. The degree of the product
purification depends on many factors even for a given setup
of the magnetic separator. Physical and geometrical properties
of the objects to be removed from the flow, as well as mechanical
properties of the product and flow geometry inside the separator
influence the ability of the magnets to catch the magnetic
objects.
Magnetic field in the MMT magnetic separators is produced
by modern high-energy permanent magnets based on Nd-Fe-B sintered
compounds. Relatively small size and high temporal stability
of the magnetic characteristics are among the main features
of such magnets. Service term of such magnets exceeds 10 years,
so almost no periodical control of the magnetic properties
is necessary.
We hope that the typical designs of the magnetic separators
and their magnetic systems presented below shall help you
to make your choice or to formulate more detailed specifications.
Research and production Company MMT Ltd. is always ready to
adapt the design of our products for your applications.
Here are several typical designs of magnetic separators
developed and produced by MMT R&P Company.
1. Slotted
separators with flat and tube-like elements of the magnetic
grid
2. Flat
magnetic screens
3. Separators
with free passage section for inclined product pipelines
All the magnetic separators produced by
the MMT Company are made of materials that do not pollute
the separated products. Optimised magnetic systems of the
MMT magnetic separators made of modern sintered rare-earth
permanent magnets with energy up to 4.5*106 Gs*Oersted
ensure unrivalled separation efficiency.
Construction material used in MMT separators, polished stainless
steel of the standard 12Õ18Í10Ò, prevents spark formation
even when large metallic objects hit the separator wall.
Design of the MMT separators allows to mount them
into any hermetic or open channels with different configuration
and sizes in existing and new developed equipment, and also
to use it separately (e.g., in any convenient place along
the conveyor belt line).
Typical sizes and characteristics of the MMT magnetic separators
are shown in Technical specifications ÒÓ
6391-001-18785310-00 «Magnetic separators for removal of
ferromagnetic impurities». These products comply with
the State sanitary and epidemiological regulations. (See
the Sanitary certificate
¹ 77.01.04.639.Ò.12761.05.2 issued on 06.05.02).
MMT Company also offer a novel Drill
liquid magnetic separator developed and produced on
request of and in cooperation with the oil-producing Stock
Company "Surgutneftegaz".
